Obituary

Thomas C. Monahan entered into eternal peace on Thursday, June 22, 2017. He was 87.
Born February 17, 1930 to Lawrence and Clara Monahan in Boston, Mass, Tom was the youngest of 3 children. He attended school in Massachusetts and New Hampshire before graduating from University of Arizona in 1952. Tom served in the US Air Force as a navigator during the Korean War and was stationed in North Africa. After the war, Tom worked for Garlock as a gasket salesman and in 1962 started Crown Products, Inc. in Tulsa and later started branches in Wichita, Kansas, Longview and Dallas, Texas. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Tulsa and the Tulsa Men's Club. After retiring Tom enjoyed woodworking and built and donated numerous furniture pieces such as tables, chairs, and bookcases for the Salvation Army, Tulsa Boys Home and Asbury Methodist Church. Identified as a "Mr. Fix-It" he helped repair and install playground equipment and was best known for his sturdy ping pong tables.
Tom was a devoted husband and father and is survived by his wife, Helen Monahan, son Doug Monahan, Austin,TX, daughter Diane Howe, Tulsa, granddaughter Katy Howe, OKC and numerous nephews and nieces.
Tom was preceded in death by his son, Martin Monahan, his sister Charlotte Hubachek and brother Paul Monahan.
A Memorial Funeral Service will be held at Asbury Methodist Church, at 10:00 a.m., June 28th. A private burial will be held by the family.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Saint Simeon's and Saint Francis Hospice for their support in his final days.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tulsa Boys Home or The Salvation Army.
