Obituary

Thomas 'Tom' Reinhold Tell, age 74, passed away on March 20, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tom was a humble and a caring soul. He was born on March 5, 1952, in Houston, Texas to parents William Tell and Ellen Oliver (McCall) Tell. He was one of four children who traveled the world for their father's career.

Tom graduated from Oklahoma State University and received a BS degree in marketing. After college, he served several years as an officer in the US Marine Corp. Following his service he settled in Tulsa, Oklahoma and worked for USPS until he retired.

There he met the love of his life, Jody Kemper and they were married on August 3, 1978. During their life together they had three wonderful children - Shawn Tell, Sarah Tell, and Kemper Tell.

Tom was an enthusiast of many hobbies including cars, model planes, trains, classic TV and movies and books. He was a lover of animals and always had a furry companion (or two!). Tom enjoyed going to the gym and specifically lifting weights.

He was known by all that met him as a person of quiet strength and genuine kindness. He could talk about any topic and always enjoyed a lively exchange of ideas.

He is survived by his wife of 47 yrs marriage, Jody Tell (Tulsa, OK). His children, Shawn R. Tell (Houston, TX); daughters Sarah C. Tell (Tulsa, OK); Kemper A. Tell (Overland Park, KS); his granddaughter Emilia; his siblings, Bill Tell and Jane Grogan. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Carl Tell.

A Graveside Service is will be at 11:00 AM CST on March 31, 2026, at Calvary Cemetery, Tulsa, OK.
