Thomas Kenneth Hills Jr. was born on January 5, 1941, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to T.K. and Margaret Hills, and passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021. He attended Marquette High School in Tulsa, graduated in 1959, and then attended The University of Tulsa. He was married to Mary Carolyn McNally on August 31, 1963, and together they had four children. Tom and Mary Carolyn have been active members of the Church of Saint Mary for more than 50 years.
Tom served in the Air National Guard of Oklahoma and as a Reserve for the Airforce from 1963 to 1969. He spent his early career years in accounting positions in the energy industry and the majority of his remaining professional career in the data processing sector of the banking industry, but his true love was always children and sports. He loved to play sports growing up and coached all of his children's teams in a variety of sports. He was active in many youth sports organizations coordinating league schedules, officials, and tournaments across multiple sports for more than 20 years. His passion for sports extended to his memberships in GTOA and OSSAA as a coordinator and official himself for both youth and high school sports including football, basketball, baseball and softball for more than 40 years. He cherished relationships with players, coaches, fans, administrators and fellow officials.
He loved his wife, his children, his grandchildren, his relatives, his friends, his coworkers. In his words, Tom was like Will Rogers - He never met a person he didn't like! He always felt younger people were the future and was always available to love, guide and help them in any way possible.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, T.K. and Margaret Hills, and his sister, Cassandra. He is survived by his wife, Mary Carolyn, of Tulsa, his brother, Joe Hills of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, his sister Susan Meis of Decatur, Illinois, his children and their families, Jeff and Jan Hills, Natalie and her husband Arpan, Emma and Abigail, all of Tulsa, Robert and Shelley Hills, Josh, Erin and Sam, Ivy, Sawyer and Tess, all of Tulsa, Steven Hills, Rick, Tristan and Becca, all of Tulsa, and Karen and Jason Bomar, Matthew, Michael and Nathan, all of Altadena, California, and countless extended family members and friends with whom he was very close.
