VERA GOLD ANDERSON

Vera Gold Anderson, 97, of Tulsa, Oklahoma died at home on January 31, 2016. Services are scheduled for Friday, February 26th, 11 am at the Brookside Baptist Church, Tulsa. Graveside services will be at 2:30 pm at Little Cemetery north of Seminole, Oklahoma. Her pastor, Danny Stockstill will be officiating.

Vera was born August 4, 1918 in Pottsville, Arkansas to Arthur and Effie (Long) Walker. She was married to Jess Gold from 1938 till his death in 1964. She was married to Bill Anderson from 1981 till his death in 1984. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Floyd Walker, Ray Walker, two sisters, Pauline Kline, Reba Hendryx , and one granddaughter, Jill Gold.

Vera is survived by her son and daughters: Don (Joyce) Gold of Jenks, Oklahoma, Nancy (Al) Hughes of Olathe, Kansas and Susan (Phil) Pierce of Frederick, Maryland; five grandchildren: Joe-Don (Colleen) Gold, Stacy (Kirk) Ackerson, Jan (Brent) Hollenbeck, Aaron Hughes and Matthew (Stephanie) Pierce; seven great grandchildren: Walker and Tess Ackerson, Eric and Ian Gold, Kate Hollenbeck, Jackson and Allison Pierce; one sister, Ruby Hook of Worland, Wyoming; one brother Robert Walker of Claycomo, Missouri, and some very dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Vera worked many years as a private duty nurse and was much loved by the families she cared for. She was generous to all. She especially loved her family, church and friends. Vera will be greatly missed.
