Colonel (Ret.) Vernon Lee Womack Dec 13th 1933-July 14th 2012
Born in Fairview, OK to Dallas and Clara Womack. A highly decorated 23 year Air Force veteran, he was a Combat Fighter Pilot who flew the F-4 Phantom in the Vietnam War. Following retirement from the Air Force, he continued his career at McDonnell Douglas Corporation. He played football for and was a 1965 graduate of Oklahoma State University. With a heart of gold and a giving spirit he blessed many people's lives. He deeply loved his family and cherished his many friendships. He enjoyed writing humorous poetry to entertain his family and friends. He loved fishing with his two grandchildren and playing weekly tennis matches with his friends rain or shine. Vernon is survived by; his wife Janet; sons John, Mark and wife Millinee; daughter Lisa Ryan and husband Chris; two grandchildren, Alexandra and Nicholas Ryan; brother Ray Womack; sisters, Vada Majors and Yvonne Williams. He was preceded in death by his brother Willis. Vernon's wishes were to be cremated. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to the American Heart Association or charity of choice.
