Veronica "Vera" Ann Hail was born on October 4, 1922 to John and Bridget Kennedy in Lakeview, Newfoundland, the second of eleven children. After graduating high school, Vera worked at the U.S. naval base in Argentia, Newfoundland, where she met her future husband, Maurice Hail. In March 1946, after the war, they married in New York City at St. Patrick's Cathedral. The couple moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and raised six children.

Vera was a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed supporting her children in their academic and athletic activities.

Vera died peacefully at her home November 13, 2012, surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Maurice; parents John and Bridget Kennedy; sisters Lillian, Teresa and Dorothy, and brothers, Lawrence and James. Survivors include her children Rose, Maureen, Maurice II, Margaret Ann, Jim and Larry; brothers Joseph, George and Jackie; sisters, Mary and Angela; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Rosary will be said 6:00 p.m., Thursday, and Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, both at Saint Pius X Catholic Church, 1277 S 75th East Ave.
