Vincent Kemendo suddenly passed from this life on Sunday, January 27, 2019. At the time of his death, he was waterfowl hunting with his brother, one of his favorite things in life.
Vincent was born in Caracas, Venezuela on November 25, 1954. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Tulsa where he was raised. Upon graduation from Edison High School, he attended Drake University and graduated with a BS in Finance. While at Drake, he became a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. It was there where he met Susan, his wife of 39 years. After receiving his undergraduate degree, Vince continued his education at Oklahoma State University where he obtained an MBA.
Vincent was an avid outdoorsman who spent untold hours pursuing his passion. Although he graduated from OSU, he was an ardent OU football fan, listening to or watching every game they played. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and served the Tulsa Chapter in various capacities ultimately receiving their Distinguished Service Award. He was also a member of the Conderosa Club, an exclusive hunting and fishing lodge located on the Grand River three miles below the Fort Gibson Dam. He was involved in his sons' endeavors in the Boy Scouts of America, and supported the organization throughout his life. Vincent held many financial positions of increasing importance and responsibility throughout his professional career. Most recently, he was the Finance Manager of Cherokee Nation Businesses.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Chris V. and Kathryn Kemendo and Benjamin R. and Eva Cook, his parents, Chris V. Jr. and Frances Cook Kemendo, and his uncle, B.R. Cook, Jr. Also, he is survived by his wife, Susan; sons, Christopher and Andrew; siblings, Ben and his wife Cathy of Tulsa, and Missie Kemendo Blackburn of North Reddington Beach, Florida; and nephews, Corry and his wife Jia, Seth, and Connor.
A memorial service will be held at 2PM on Monday, February 4th, at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, 3612 E. 91st Street in Tulsa. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Brain Research Foundation at
