Vincent Joseph Zardus, Jr. passed away on November 13, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 85 surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy. Vincent was born on March 28, 1937 to parents Vincent Joseph Zardus, Sr and June Zardus.
Vince graduated from Sharon Hill High School in the class of 1955, then furthered his education by obtaining a degree in Accounting, from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He worked in the accounting field. He worked for Getty Oil, Texaco, IBM and Conoco Phillips. While working for Getty Oil (formerly Tidewater Oil) he met and married Beverly Valoris in 1964. They moved to Tulsa in 1977 with Getty Oil.
They were blessed with a beautiful family of 4 children, 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Vince was deeply involved in youth and adult soccer as a youth coach and soccer referee for adult games. He was also an avid runner and participated in many 5K races with his friend, Bill Wilber. He held many officer positions in various organizations such as Union Band Parents, Tulsa Adult Soccer Club, Tulsa Master Gardeners, Linneaus Teaching Garden and others. His friends will always remember him for his humor and love for his family.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly. He was the proud father of Paul Zardus and wife, Emma Arnett of Tulsa, OK; Elise and husband Aaron Burch of North Richland Hills, Texas; Eric and wife Kim of Tulsa, OK; Cheryl and husband David Bishop of Bixby, OK; and sister Joan Zardus of Amesbury, MA. He was an amazing Greydad to Brittany (Greydad was the name officially given to him by his first granddaughter), Caleigh, Sarah, Jack, Laurel and Joe and a great Greydad to Magnolia Merchen. He is preceded in death by his parents Vincent Joseph Sr and June Zardus and brother, Dave Zardus.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Mary in Tulsa, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Disease Research or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the charity of your choice.
