Virginia Mary Cervantes, 88 of Sapulpa, OK passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025. She was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God.

Virginia was born on February 8, 1937 at the family home in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Nachez and Manuela Jimenez Cervantes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Joseph Paul Cervantes; brothers, Ernesto, Saragosa, Al, and Paul; and sister, Natalie.

Virginia is survived by many loved family members and beloved friends.

Virginia entered the convent and served in the Order of the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother in Wichita, KS and Milwaukee, WI. During and after her service, she was a devoted school teacher. She retired from St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, where she served as medical librarian.

Virginia was a parishioner of Saint Catherine of Alexandria and member of the Ladies Guild. She served as the president of the Residents Council and member of the Butterfly Club at Arbor Village.

A Rosary will be held on July 9, 2025 at 6:00 pm at St. Catherine of Alexandria, 4532 S 25th W Ave in Tulsa, OK. A Funeral Mass will be held on July 10, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Catherine of Alexandria in Tulsa, OK followed by luncheon. The Internment will be July 10, 2025 at 12:30 pm at Calvary Cemetery, 9101 S Harvard Ave, Tulsa, OK.
