Virginia was born May 27, 1942 in Kennedy Township, Pennsylvania, to Mary Anna and Philip Oriolo. Virginia is survived by her son Eric, daughter-in-law Paula, and her granddaughters Elizabeth and Jordan, as well as nieces Linda Weidner of Tampa, FL, Marianne Burris of Portland, OR and Terri Horn of Pittsburgh, PA, and nephews Joel Bruno, Tray Onett, Richard and Phillip Schmidt all of Pittsburgh, PA.

Virginia graduated from Montour High School, McKees Rocks, PA in 1960 and earned a degree in English Literature from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh in 1964.

She worked as a secretary and then registrar at the University of Tulsa College of Law, retiring in 2010, having been previously employed with Vantage Point Energy in Tulsa, and Litton Industries in Springfield, MO.

Virginia was a parishioner of Saint Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church for 38 years, where she sang in the chancel and bell choirs for 30 years and participated in many other church activities. She also served as a docent at Philbrook Museum of Art and as a volunteer at St Francis Hospital. She remained active and energetic until the last year of her life.

Virginia was the matriarch of her family who lived to serve rather than be served. She was a proud Italian-American who loved art, literature, crossword puzzles and English television shows.

She is preceded in death by her husband Paul, her sisters Theresa Bruno, Norma Onett and Antoinette Oriolo, her brother Frank Oriolo and her nephew Bryan Schmidt.

The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Francis Hospice for their kindness, dedication and care during her last days.

Visitation hours will be from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel on Monday, September 28th.

A rosary will be prayed at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel at 7:00 pm on Monday.

Her funeral mass will be at 1:00 pm on Tursday, September 29th at St Bernard of Clairvaux in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
