Walter (John) Diver II, 59, passed away peacefully in the early morning of February 17, 2018 during his fight with illness. John is survived by his aunt Dorothy Diver, brothers Matthew and Robert Newby, sister Debbie Diver, loving wife Cathy Diver, and two sons, John R. Diver of Tulsa, OK and Michael T. Diver of Oklahoma City, OK.
John was born July 10, 1959 in Inglewood, California to Audrey Diver and Walter Diver. John soon moved from Inglewood to Middletown, Ohio. John attended Fenwick and Middletown High Schools until he started working for Hughes Helicopters, thereon beginning his career in aerospace. John followed his aerospace career back to Los Angeles and began his tenure at Rockwell International in 1982. There, he met the love of his life and married Cathy the very next year. Their family grew to include two sons, John and Michael while living in Los Angeles. With much deliberation, John moved his family to Tulsa, OK which became home in 1991. In Tulsa, his career continued into director positions with Boeing and Spirit AeroSystems.
John was a loyal man who was constantly surrounded with friends. He was always attentive to the needs of his family, friends, and colleagues. If anyone ever needed anything, he had their back. John was also a devoted husband and father to the greatest degree. The Ohio State was and will always be his team, regardless of opponent. John loved the sport of and being a spectator of golf. He exposed his sons to the game and fostered their appreciation through the PGA and US Open tournaments. He coached his son's football and basketball teams while serving as an utmost role model to them and their teammates.
Services will be held on Saturday March 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel in Tulsa, OK. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a charitable donation of your choosing.
