William Paul Harwell, age 69, passed away on September 17th, 2024 in Tulsa, OK.
Bill was born on December 8th, 1954 in Seattle, Washington to parents Allan and Edna Harwell. He graduatedfrom Cleveland High School in Seattle in 1973 and continued his education at the University of Washington. Bill married the love of his life, Paddy, on April 18th, 1977. They made their home in Tulsa, Oklahoma and raised two wonderful children, Danny and Hillary. Bill was passionate about spending time with his family and was a true family man. He enjoyed monthly trips to San Diego to see his grandchildren in their various activities. His family and friends will always remember him as a loving, kind, and selfless person. Bill had a strong faith in God and enjoyed attending First Baptist Church.
Before his family became the center of his world, his passion was sports. He began his career as an athletic trainer for the Seattle Rainers baseball team. He later moved into hockey and soccer, most notably with the Tulsa Oilers, Tulsa Roughnecks, Vancouver Whitecaps and Vancouver Canucks. He later worked as a petroleum land man and started Harwell Field Services. In 2012 he and Paddy purchased a building in downtown Tulsa as a philanthropic endeavor to serve as a venue for the Arts and community events. This eventually developed into what is now Studio 308.
Bill is survived by his wife of 47 years, Paddy, his son Daniel Harwell (and wife Macy), his daughter Hillary Reaber (and husband Caleb), grandchildren Nolan and Hailey Reaber, sister Patty Reha (and husband Jim), sister-in-law Vanessa Robinson (and husband Scott), niece Kristen Reha, and nephews John and Jeff Reha. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Edna and Allan, and nephew James Reha.
A funeral is scheduled for 2pm on Thursday September 26th at First Baptist Church in Tulsa. A graveside service will Follow at 4pm at Calvary Cemetery. The day of honoring Bill will conclude with a reception at Studio 308 in the Downtown East Village. There will be a visitation Wednesday, September 25th at Fitzgerald Funeral home from 5-7pm.
