William "Bill" Jackson Pruett, Jr., of Tulsa, OK, passed away on April 13, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Mary Pruett, daughter, Ashley Pruett and spouse Kay, stepson Shaun Doty and children, Dante and Brick, stepdaughter, Michelle Gummere, and spouse, Chris, and children, Davin, Jacey and Calan, son-in-law, Jeff Butler, and children, Jackson and Grayson, sister, Mary Jane Collins, and spouse, Michael. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Jackson "Jack" Pruett, Sr., and Naomi "Peggy" Middleton Pruett, and his daughter Paige Elizabeth Pruett Butler. Bill was born on July 6, 1946, in Oklahoma City, OK. He was Grandpa to five, and "Gwandad" to two, and loved his grandchildren dearly. He spent most of his youth in Fort Worth, TX, and graduated from Pascal High School in 1964. He began college at Baylor University, and transferred to and graduated from The University of Tulsa (69'), where he was a fullback on the football team, and a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. Bill spent many years as an insurance agent with New York Life. He was a lover of the game of golf and the great Sam Sneed, and a sports enthusiast all around… Boomer Sooner! He will be dearly missed by his entire family.
There will be a rosary vigil and visitation on Monday evening, April 17, 2017, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Church of the Resurrection (Rosary vigil to begin at 7:00 PM.) Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of the Resurrection on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 1:00 PM.
