William R. "Bill" Reichard died peacefully at Porta Caeli House in Tulsa, OK at the age of 83. He was born on April 28, 1933 in Springfield, Missouri to Porter Layton Reichard and Nancy Ann O'Donnell Reichard. Bill is survived by his children: Billy Reichard & wife Stacey of Shreveport, LA and Theresa Reichard & husband David of Broken Arrow, OK; brother Rod Reichard & wife Virginia of Mesa, AZ; and brother-in-law Russell Chapman of Arkansas City, KS. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Billy & Katherine Reichard, Michelle & Troy Key, Cassie Reichard, Carson White, Clark Babbitt and Marty Babbitt; one great-grandchild Noah Reichard; a large extended family and many life-long friends. He was preceded in death by the love of his life Nancy Ann Chapman Reichard, his sister Jane Reichard Salas and his parents.
He graduated from Oklahoma Military Academy High School in 1951 and Oklahoma Military Academy Junior College in1953. He continued his education studying geology at the University of Oklahoma and honorably served as an Operations Specialist in the United States Navy. He married Nancy in 1959. He absolutely adored her and was completely devoted to their family. He was a faithful follower of Christ, and a member of First Presbyterian Church all his life. He retired from Mapco where he made many life-long friends, was a past President of the Purchasing Managers Association of Tulsa, served on the Oklahoma Military Academy Alumni Board and was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He loved OMA, OU, the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Yankees. He also loved Tulsa and its history. However, Nancy and the family were everything to him. He was proud of all six grandchildren and took pure delight in his great-grandson. He was thrilled to find out that two more great-grandchildren are coming in 2017!
A memorial service scheduled for 2:00 PM, January 21, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church, 709 South Boston Avenue, Tulsa, Oklahoma, officiated by Reverend James Estes. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bill's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to First Presbyterian Church, Oklahoma Military Academy Alumni Association or Porta Caeli House.
