For a man that was never in a hurry, he left this earth too quickly.
William died in Tulsa, OK peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his family.
William (Bill) was born on June 22, 1941, the oldest of three children to parents William (Bud) and Josephine Ewerling, in Chicago, IL. He graduated from Schurz High School in the class of 1959, and then furthered his education in Vocational, Transportation and Purchasing Logistics.
Bill is preceded in death by his Father and Mother. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Judith (Moschel) Ewerling, his children, Bill Jr. (wife Penny), Barbara (husband Bradley, children Rachel and Brandon), Bonnie (child Tiffany), and Donald (children Lisa and Robin).
He worked for three years at his father's trucking company in Chicago while attending school at night. In 1962 he started his 36-year career at Standard Oil Company in Chicago. He also worked in New York, Denver and finished his career in Tulsa, OK. While at Standard Oil, he worked for the purchasing department, the transportation group, and the facilities and services department.
In 1996, with his wife and Bill, Jr. they started Iron Lightning, Inc., a motorcycle shop. They started off specializing in the construction of custom American V-twin motorcycles, but later became dealers for CMC, Indian Motorcycle, Big Dog Motorcycle, and BMW motorcycle. After 20+ years, they decided to finally retire and sold the business.
In his free time, Bill enjoyed his annual trip to Chicago to attend the auto show at McCornick place. He frequented the local car shows and gun shows in Tulsa visiting with his friends. He was also an avid Cub's fan and never missed watching the games.
