Obituary

William ("Bill") George McMahan, 67, kissed his wife goodnight for the last time on March 16, 2018, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Bill was born in Okemah, Oklahoma, on October 13, 1950. He served in the Army and was stationed in Korea during wartime.  Upon his return, he eventually discovered he was a natural born salesman and was recognized with many sales awards for his efforts.  He had an endearing sense of humor and a real love for life. He was an avid fisherman- especially saltwater - and loved traveling and his family (which included his dogs). After retiring, he continued to care for his wife and his dogs and began volunteering for the Tulsa SPCA.

Bill leaves many loving and fun memories with his family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Imogene Tillery, and his brother, Sheldon Tillery. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 38 years, Faith Orlowski McMahan; two wonderful children, Greg McMahan and his wife, Carrie, of Tulsa, and Melinda Barker of Oklahoma City and her husband, Terry, and five fabulous grandchildren who never failed to make him smile: Kd McMahan, Becca Barker, Sydney McMahan, and twins, Ian and Will McMahan. Bill also leaves behind his stepfather, Leon Tillery, and two brothers, Duwane Tillery and Chris Tillery, and two sisters, Darlene and Carolyn. Bill is also survived by his long-time childhood best friend, Larry Deckard, who was a brother to him in every sense of the word.Everyone is special, but Bill could not have been loved more and will be painfully missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., May 12, 2018 at Fitzgerald Southwood Chapel at 3612 East 91st Street.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Tulsa SPCA, 2910 Mohawk Blvd, Tulsa 74110.
