William "Bill" Dennis Mitchell, III was born January 9, 1944 to William Dennis Mitchell, Jr. and Marie Jeanne Tanguay Mitchell in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He died at home on Friday, March 22, 2013 surrounded by family and friends. Bill graduated from Clarksville High School in 1962. He served as a military policeman in the United States Army before heading to Cal State University, Northridge. In college he studied and received a degree in Radio/TV/Film. Shortly after graduation he started his career in television news. He worked in Tulsa, Little Rock, Arkansas and Oklahoma City before retiring from Tulsa's News Channel 8 in December 2012. Bill devoted his life to television news. There was never a place he could not find a story. Bill is survived by his wife, Jill, his daughter, Cynthia Mitchell and many other family and friends. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Forrest Park Christian Church, 9102 S. Mingo Rd. Tulsa, OK 74133.
