Obituary

William Paul "Bill" Mobley Jr., age 89, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2024, surrounded by his family at his home in Bixby. Born on July 16, 1935, in Yoakum, Texas, Bill was the son of William Paul Mobley Sr. and Mary Christine Hinds. A proud graduate of Yoakum High School, class of 1953, Bill was known for his standout role as the football team's kicker.
In 1955, Bill moved to Houston and began his career at Magcobar, where he met the love of his life, Jane Cooney, a secretary at the company. They married in 1957 and had three daughters. While working full-time, Bill attended the University of Houston, earning a degree in Business, a testament to his dedication and perseverance.
In 1977, Bill and his family relocated to Tulsa where he joined First National Bank. Later, he served as a Systems Analyst for the City of Tulsa, retiring in 2008 after a long and fulfilling career. On October 17, 2009, Bill faced the heartbreaking loss of his beloved wife of 52 years, Jane. Remarkably, exactly 15 years later, on the same day, he was reunited with her in Heaven.
Bill is preceded in death by his three brothers and one sister. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his three daughters: Marcia Brickman (Mark), Sherri Wells (Doug), and Jan Mobley; as well as six loving grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A service honoring Bill's life will be held on Tuesday, October 22nd, at Fitzgerald Southwood Southwood Colonial Chapel. His kindness, strength, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
