Born in Sallisaw, OK May 8, 1927, William Donald Toney was a loving, kind, caring, considerate, generous, humorous, intelligent, wise husband, father and friend. He shared many interests such as hunting, fishing, gardening, carpentry, travel and love for reading, literature, art and music.
His children, James and Donna Susan are filled with memories of his immense love, presence, loyalty, and continued guidance and direction. He is irreplaceable as a father and friend and his good sense of humor, laughter, kindness, sensitivity, wisdom, loyalty and friendship will be deeply missed and remembered.
His wife, Jan will miss him tying her shoes in the morning, pushing her chair in at the table; opening the doors, kindness, and sense of humor. His attention and concern for provisions for her and the children, being there for every need, was steadfast, faithful and dependable. His daily call on the way home from his office, checking to see if anything was needed could be counted on.
To his friends, he was generous, loyal, kind and caring; if you needed him, he was there.
Bill was a brilliant, intelligent, creative, hard working professional, who was an internationally recognized and sought after Corporate Labor Lawyer.
Bill served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a crewmember of USS Whiteside (AKA90), and following his graduation from Oklahoma State University and The University of Oklahoma, he received an appointment as a Naval Officer and retired from the Naval Reserves in 1987, as a Lieutenant Commander in Naval Intelligence.
He is survived by his wife, Mary B. (Jan), his children, Donna Susan and James, nephew Joe and nieces, Jackie, Lynda, Paula and Cyndie and their spouses.
