Obituary

Windham Earl Hill passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma on October 11, 2015.

Windham was pre-deceased by his parents, J.J. and Ethel Hill of Shawnee, Oklahoma. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth (Bette) of the residence; his two sons, Michael and his wife Sally of Tulsa, OK; and Dr. John C. Hill and his wife, Linda of Mishawaka, Indiana.

He was the proud grandfather of five grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Windham was born in Booneville, Mississippi on June 24, 1922 and graduated from Seminole High School in 1940. He then entered the Army Medical Corps as a bacteriologist and was honorably discharged on April 30, 1946. While in the service he met Bette, his wife of 69 years, who was an Army nurse.

He graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1951 with a BS degree and thereafter he was employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tulsa retiring in 1982 as Vice President of Provider Relations.

He enjoyed his years of retirement with Bette, their children and grandchildren, traveling, as well as being a docent at Gilcrease Museum and developing a post retirement career in small engine repair.

Visitation will occur on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, 3612 E. 91st Street in Tulsa, OK and a funeral service will take place at the Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with graveside services immediately following at Memorial Park Cemetery.
